Hey Folks,

I have a used Delta LA 200 and am looking for parts which is quite a challenge since they are no longer produced. I did find a power switch but I need a handle to lock the quill. I see many lathes that this part seems to fail on and was wondering if anyone knew of the thread and bolt size required. It did not have the handle when I bought it (just a bolt and vice grips) but am thinking that if it matches the handles on other lathes then I could just buy a replacement part for one of them.

Thanks, Joe

Welcome to the TPW, Joe. I'm sure one of our excellent turners will be along to help you.

Welcome aboard Joe, glad to have you here.

Welcome aboard!

First off welcome to TPW Joe.

You've probably already gone the usual replacement routes and found that the original handle was replaced with another that is also NLA. Have you tried ebay?

You stated that you have a bolt that fits, so it might be easier to fashion a replacement by using standard hardware from the likes of Ace Hardware, True Value, etc. The True Value by me has a pretty good supply of knobs/handles in those little drawers of specialty hardware. Take the bolt with you. Most good hardware stores have both standard, and metric thread gauges so you can match the bolt you have.

Hi Joe welcome aboard.  I see the part calls for a 913386 handle.  It is available here.

There are companies that stock them by thread size.  Take your bolt to the local hardware store to determine the thread size.

Awesome advice guys and thanks for welcoming me aboard!

Hi Joe, and welcome. I’ve never turned so I’ll leave it at that :) .

Welcome to the forums Joe. Not a turner myself but you'll fine some real experts here.

Joe, welcome to the nuthouse forums.  Glad you are here.  Drag up something to sit on, and get your favorite beverage.  We're just sitting around the table with cookies, what happened to the donuts?  Anyway, glad you are here and yes, you'll find experienced folks here who are also rather knowledgeable.  Whose turn is to buy the donuts?

An aside, you can purchase handles just like those for Shopsmith.  https://www.ebay.com/itm/Shopsmith-10ER-Lathe-Tool-Rest-Lever-Handles-Adjustable-All-Metal-upgrade-pair/264563406518?hash=item3d993536b6:g:5NIAAOSwYvFZL7BD

Welcome to the Forum. You can find these Rachet levers in several places such as Grainger and This Amazon item which fit my PM but will probably need to be smaller for your lathe. Once you get the correct thread size then search. Start with 1/4 20 and go down from that.
