My good friend John Moody is building for a show in a few weeks and is up to his eyeballs in sawdust so he asked me to submit his usual Friday post.  I have a show next Saturday but I have enough stock so here goes.  This is municipal elections in Indiana and since I’m on our county election board life gets a bit busy right now.  In spite of that, I’ve been able to build a pair of rolling 4 foot islands for the local elks Lodge.  Hopefully, they can be in place in the next ten days.  No shop work tomorrow because my son and I are making a trip to South Bend  to watch Notre Dame take on Virginia Tech.  I sure hope they play better this week.  So, what’s on your weekend agenda?

Finishing Cat House / Saw Horse Build.  Everything is done just a matter of assembly, and some time, uninterrupted with all the other things not working in the shop.

New alternator for the sons truck after retrieving it from the roadside, putting up deck furniture for winter, FAFSA work for the oldest, generally not much shop fun this weekend. Maybe a little cleanup up from some prior projects.  Oh!  And trick or treating with the youngest because of postponement due to snow.  At least I will not be too bored!  Enjoy the weekend, folks!

I remember the FAFSA ordeal.  I always felt violated after filling them out.

My dad was frustrated enough by the questions that he refused to submit it.  Too invasive!  And I agree with you, it leaves ya feeling not quite right!

Working on a new item . Off center turned pendants with beads and leather necklace. I do not think I could do two of the alike if I had to.

Working on this years tree ornament.  Did a few and need to pick the one I like best.  Going to go out and chop up some more leaves.  Had a good frost last night so more will be coming down.

Son DIL and the little cutie are visiting for the weekend. I'll have some help loading the mesquite for the Illinois trip. 6/4 slabs by 6' ain't light! Most are around 10-14" wide. Got enough of those for 5 layers in the bed then the shorts on top. We take off Wednesday . Praying for no snow/ice between here and there for the next two weeks. Midwestern weather can be fickle, though.

Phyl is getting better by the day. She'll be good to qo by Wednesday. Those blood thinners are doing the trick. Thank goodness!

You could just detour to Mississippi and drop some of that of to save a little gas.

Gentlemen, I'd love to make a detour to GA and MS. Unfortunately, time is of the essence for this trip. We must be back home by 11/20 for Dr. Appts. 

Well, poopie! Had you dtoured to GA, you could have come (sortof) past my house on the way to IL. Good news about Phyl.

Someday, maybe next fall, I'd really like to see a bunch of you guys.

Hey we are civilized here, we have at least 2 doctors and a dentist.  Can't be sure but maybe even a Witch Doctor.

Got the driveway formed and poured.  Didn't even have to have a permit.  The rain broke, the ground was partly dry, but when we poured the mud, the water stood on top for a couple of hours.  So easy to float.  Found a couple of floating shelves that needs rebuilding.  Built by unknowing and inexperienced, but they are salvagable.  So, will show in a different thread what I found, what I correct and the final products.  Cooler weather and I feel alive.  

 

Gene, so glad that Phyl is doing so well.  I hope it continues to stay well.
