Thank you, Sid.  The lathe is absolutely incredible.

Nothing wrong with what you did. Sure it could be different and you have learned your tools and added to your skill set. It's a giant step forward.

I served on board carriers and never saw anything that palatial in pictures of Vietnam.  What years did you serve?  And, thank you for being there.

I served in Vietnam from April 1968 through November 1969.  That photo was up in the central highlands outside a little village called Phu Tai.  Prior to that photo we had cleared that area to make our base.

I love your choice in wood. They go very well together. I am the last one to criticize on a finial. I always make them what seems too big after I have it installed.

Thanks...and I think you may be onto something cause they do look thinner on the lathe.  Once installed, they seem to grow. Ha ha ha...
