John Moody Posted December 28, 2018 Report Posted December 28, 2018 This seems like a very fast year as we come to the last weekend. It has been a busy year for us and we were blessed with lots of projects. We usually take a couple of weeks after Christmas to regroup and reorganize somewhat before starting back. So no work in our shop this week or this weekend. I plan on a little relaxing and doing a little shooting at this range this weekend. I have some reloading to do. Part of of the weekend I’ll be in front of the TV watching the College Football Playoffs. Time now to take some time and reflect back on the year and plan for the coming year. What’s on your agenda this weekend? I love to hear what you are doing and see the projects your are working on. Have a a safe and Happy New Year. DuckSoup, p_toad, Grandpadave52 and 1 other 4 Quote

Popular Post Stick486 Posted December 28, 2018 Popular Post Report Posted December 28, 2018 did linen, laundry, made breakfast, played w/ @tomp's potato formula, cleaned the kitchen, housekeeping, mopped floors groomed the dog and a few other things.. all that stoved me for the rest of the year that's for sure.... I have absolutely no idea what got into me.. I'll watch out for that in the future... DuckSoup, Gunny, Cal and 5 others 8 Quote
Popular Post Gerald Posted December 28, 2018 Popular Post Report Posted December 28, 2018 Finally got started on a box for a friend to put a scrapbook in which she is doing for her grandson. And now I remember why I dislike doing raised panels. Got the box glued up with finger joints and started on raised panel top. While putting the top together one side of it broke so back to glue the top up. DuckSoup, steven newman, Cal and 3 others 5 1 Quote

Gunny Posted December 29, 2018 Report Posted December 29, 2018 Those are small enough I could go either way. Use the lathe or break out the circle cutting jig for bandsaw. Cal 1 Quote
steven newman Posted December 29, 2018 Report Posted December 29, 2018 Did a walk-about today....not much. Have a small pile of scrap to cut up, into....something... Haven't a clue as to what the next project will be....haven't been told, yet. May just go and get a stack of Pine 1xs...and see what happens Cal, DuckSoup and p_toad 3 Quote

For my shop time I hope to tackle a small corner table as soon as my garage space gets freed up. I have no plans for the table yet, just an idea in my mind what I would like it to look like. Probably start making a few sketches and working out dimensions this weekend. Waiting on a new temperature sending unit for the car before I take it out of the workshop. Likely watch a college bowl game or two, don't know if I can bring myself to cheer for Alabama or not... DuckSoup and Grandpadave52 2 Quote

Popular Post Gunny Posted December 30, 2018 Popular Post Report Posted December 30, 2018 Working on a mini router table that will be mounted to drawer that pulls out and locks in place. Using a lab scissor lift to lower and raise the router. Here is progress so far. When done 4 sets of 150 lb drawer slides will be in use. Current mock up only has one set attached as this is being fitted and some wiring needs to be run to power this up. FlGatorwood, Grandpadave52, steven newman and 5 others 7 1 Quote
Popular Post FlGatorwood Posted December 30, 2018 Popular Post Report Posted December 30, 2018 (edited) Well, the queen and I had our 46th anniversary today. She had to remind me, of course. I hope it quits raining tomorrow, so I can pull out some wild cherry and get it prepared for the grandson. Then will pull out a vanity minus the mirror to restore and refinish. Something that our son dragged in and stored in my garage. I need some room. Edited December 30, 2018 by FlGatorwood p_toad, Dadio, Gunny and 3 others 5 1 Quote

Popular Post steven newman Posted December 31, 2018 Popular Post Report Posted December 31, 2018 Back brakes on the Dodge Grand Caravan......driver's side was grinding....just that one wheel.....FINALLY was able to scrape up enough cash and help....pads got changed out..tonight.. Let's see..had to rent a special tool to "screw" the piston back into the calipers..$60 Needed a space to work in....used the neighbors garage. No garage door, no lights, no heat. and had to wait until his "Boss" left for work...@ 2130 hrs....then we could back the van into the garage,,,Have a "trouble light" we could hang up....one working outlet in the entire garage. Seems the driver's side rear brakes had been dragging ( E-brake sticking?) it was down to 1/8" thick....worked on it first...had issues with getting the wheel off.. until I got a bigger hammer...Son, Grandson, and I worked about 2 hours....back brakes are done...E-Brake linkage has a grease zert....gave that a shot...after WD40 helped clean the mess up.. Passenger side pads were almost like new...but..someone had place the wrong pads on the van....Correct pads are now on. Tomorrow, I can unload the trunk ( full of tools ) and take the tool back to Autozone..and get my $60 back. At least with the front brakes ( still good, BTW) I won't need to rent that tool, again...
