December 22, 20187 yr Popular Post Did finally finish my V groove jig for drilling round pieces. Have a lot of call for this and finally broke down and made what I needed. Like any other tool it needed a home, made that too.

But y'all have left out the "problem" of this witness to the carnage...the fat man. What to do, what to do. A couple options come to mind: 1. Keep him around as a stable hand - being a resident of the North Pole and an illegal immigrant he would work for next to nothing, right? 2. As a slimmed down and buff stable hand he could be the next spokesperson for a new chain of exercise clubs and diet books. What old woman wouldn't be dreaming of her own Santa like that? 3. Keep him all jolly & fat as a spokesman for "Bambi Burgers". Maybe he could get some of those "height impaired" workers to come work for low wages at the burger joint too. Our northern border is pretty easily breached I understand. 4. Or we could just have him deported as an illegal. Who would believe him that he flew in under the radar without papers with flying deer?
December 23, 20187 yr Loving this Tucson weather. Yesterday it hit 80 degrees. Got down to 43 overnight. Our son, Kevin found a "pole vise"...that's what he calls it. It's a big vise on a tapered steel rod with a 3/4" steel ball at the bottom. He built a stand for it. I've never seen anything like it. Pictures later. If, I can figger out how to get them from the camera to this Kindle. Otherwise, they'll have to wait till we get home. Went to a neighborhood Christmas light display, last night. About 6 square blocks of some fantastic displays. It's a Tucson Christmas tradition. There are so many sightseers that, for the last several years, they've blocked off the entire neighborhood to automobiles. You either walk or, they provide (for a price) jeep drawn trailers with seats. We rode. Each trailer holds about 50 people and there were 20 trailers fully loaded that snaked their way through the neighborhood. Took about an hour. They run every hour from 18:00 to 22:00. Quite an operation. There were huge crowds of walkers, too. No admission fees for them. It was a joy to see the faces of the little ones as they took it all in. Today, we're going to an All You Can Eat Shushi bar, for lunch. Tommorrow is TBD. Catch y'all later.

December 23, 20187 yr Wait until you have to ship one of them. . Complete tear down, just to box up... Paid $5 for it...sold it for 20x that...

They could be finger pinchers if you weren't careful. HIGHLY collectible today...a lot of them have been scrapped Good to hear your son has caught the old 'arn bug...we need the next generation pursuing this endeavor.
December 24, 20187 yr Anyone give me some guidance on this clamp? Was part of a box of assorted stuff someone dropped off. Most of it was screws and nuts and bolts. Check this clamp out though. Repairable? Seems doubtful to me. Could be turned into something else? Edited December 24, 20187 yr by Woodbutcherbynight learnng curve
