A great piece Steven.  He ought to like it!

As a "bonus", print off and give him a copy of this thread showing the work along the way, should make the piece even more better.

Thanks for this Steve, I always enjoy the PIP's that are notable in your topics, the time you take for the images, and to install them here for us to follow along, is greatly appreciated, rich content! You'll be remembered by your work for a long time, your grands, your family, all over the place there will be things, made by Steve, Grandpa, Husband, Dad, an inspiration you are here.

This entire post is excellent!! Thanks for sharing!

I really do like the pictures of the build with the well used tools  that are being put to the job of making that thing come together so well.

Every time  you do this I think you should be  producing coffee table books  of the imagery.  They'd sell.

I have to agree with the others.  The pictures of the process, the hand tools, a skill that is almost gone from the world just mesmerizes me.  How I would love to be your apprentice.  Most of your work requires little to no electricity.  Great work.

Bought a can of Clear Gloss Poly, and a brush or two, today....Wall E World is NOT a fun place to go, right now...

First coat is on, letting it sit overnight...will look in the morning, to see how it turned out..stay tuned..

Thankfully my Ukrainian wife prefers to celebrate Christmas on January 7, call it Ukrainian Christmas by the calendar they use.  No need to get out in this mess for me.

Better sales on stuff then too.

IMO there is NO time to go to Wally World that's fun.:ArguingSmileys:

Frankly I would rather have a circumcision with a chainsaw.

When the Boss says she needs to go to the store...what can I say?   usually, I just take a nap IN the van....tonight, rather than a special trip to Lowes, or Menard's   I went and paid walmart's prices...cheaper than Lowes, for the same can.

Just checked...still quite sticky to the touch.....    Will rub it down in the morning, and add coat #2...

Ok, here goes...table was brought upstairs, set in my living room...to see how it would look in "daylight"

Drawer was still a tad sticky....opened it up a bit..

To let it air dry..Top?    Camera doesn't like the bulbs in the overhead lights...makes things come out a bit yellow..

Varnish made the grain stand out a bit better..tried this table over by the TV Stand..

This is a bit closer to what the colours are..

May have to use this varnish on the end table.....Boss "Table-Napped" it, before I could...

Not a bad little table project...

Looks great Steven. Another Dungeon shop master piece and treasure.

Sign and date it either on the drawer bottom, underside of top or both.

Appreciate you sharing the entire build.

Now, take a break, watch the 287 bowls games the next couple of weeks and figure out what we'll be seeing in the new season Dungeon Workshop Series for 2019.

Just a great thread to watch/read. The pictures detailing all the steps/stages were more educational to me, than I can put into words. Thank you for all your time posting this.

So...how does one wrap something like this as a Christmas Present?

1097664918_underthetree.jpg.3c751b8dcae934096baed63c6fda448e.jpg

Well, you sit it beside the tree, set a gift bag or two on it....then later tell them that the table goes along with the bag.

Both he and his Fiance .....LOVED the table....party was at his Mom's place....he just has to haul the table from Huber Heights, OH over to Columbus, OH....
