Shopsmith Lathe Live Center

Featured Replies

Any Shopsmith owners, @Gene Howe etc, can you tell me if a universal live center will fit a Shopsmith lathe tailstock or does only the SS live center fit the tailstock assembly? Thanks!

Sorry, I can't help. IIRC, its tapered. I guess if the degree of taper matches. I'll pose the question over on the SS Forum.

John, it's a number 2 morse taper,  at least on mine. I can't see any good reason why it would be different from one machine to another.

I guess that's all that counts right!:D

Even my old ER takes a No 2 Morse taper. I got mine from a local supplier. No problem.
