It has been a busy week in our shop as we were trying to meet a deadline and get some projects out. We were given a short time but we managed to deliver the important pieces and get it setup.

My son, Josh has done most of the work with me being the "in the way management", but we all jumped in and helped.

It is really nice to be able to move pieces into the finishing room while sanding or milling is going on in the shop.

I had this nice Oak slab we used for the top of the Welcome Center and we used the self leveling epoxy to finish it. That way it covered and gave a nice thick smooth finish and really highlighted the grain in the White Oak.

Yep, we left the cracks and filled them in with epoxy.

Also did this sound console for the youth area where this was all going.

Didn't really get a picture of it but there is one wall in this area they have covered with the corrugated tin.

And we got the Oak table stained, assembled and delivered.

This weekend we have out of town company so not a lot of shop time. Also have SIG day at the range so I'll be there part of Saturday. I'm already thinking Sunday afternoon will be recliner time!

Today we are assembling more of the tables and working on a few small things in the shop.

So what's on your weekend agenda? As always, we love to hear about all the projects from our TPW members.

Post those pictures and share those projects.

Whatever you do this weekend, have fun and be safe!

Wow! Busy busy John!

Our weekend is pretty laid back hopefully, I've had enough excitement the past few weeks. I'll get a chance to come up for air and start another Surveyors Retirement Post for one of our guys. It will be similar to this one, but the letters will be higher off the base, for aesthetics.

Have a wonderful weekend Patriot Woodworkers! Be safe and be sane, and thanks @John Moody for another great Friday topic!

Ditto to Lew's comments. Your Friday posts do encourage me, though.

Yeah, you gotta churn the ice cream.;)

Week has been busy with non-shop related tasks. Now into D-4 of rain, drizzle, and generally miserable weather so no outside work got done...maybe Sunday afternoon for mowing????

Hopefully replace rear brakes on daughter's van tomorrow if it can stay parked long enough. Anything else TBD based on urgency.

Some grouting before lunch, another batch afterwards.

Need to to make up some thread tags. Very valuable.

supervising that part...

Tables are looking good John.  You got the “industrial” look that they wanted.  Dave, we are floating on this side of the state.

I've seen you were getting more than your fair share Ron.:(

We've just missed some of the heaviest rains thank goodness, but it's time for this to move on.

Hoping to get the window on the van fixed...maybe tomorrow?

Have cleaned the Stanley 45 up, taken apart, and stowed away in it's box.   May bring along a second box....as soon as I get the parts cleaned up, and stowed in it.  Anything else to drag along to the get together?

today's flavor was coffee...

see the food thread for the formula and process...

Taking it easy. Visited the pain treatment center today. Will be getting a cortisone shot in my left hip next Tuesday using floriscope technology. They can see exactly where to make the injection.  I watched a video today showing the process. Looks simple enough.

I did spend a little time in the shop today before our company arrived. Got the Walnut skirt on the cedar chest and the trim on the top.

Customer wantes a “G” on the front so I took a piece of Walnut and put it on the CNC and got the “G” cut out. Just got it stuck on the double sided tape at the moment.

Hope to get it into the finishing room Sunday afternoon.

Got it a call from work this afternoon and I’ll be working the SIG day at the range tomorrow.  Should be fun, there will be several trainers for the famous SIG Academy. Bringing lots of stuff for us to shoot.

Nice dovetails on the chest John. With the walnut skirt and grain of the cedar, that's going to be sharp once the finish is applied.

Looks like you've got your CNC working quite well too.

Great looking box, John. The CNC did a nice job on the G.

made a picture frame this morning.  it now awaits a paint job by my wonderful wife (used poplar), before receiving a counted cross stitch she did.  pics when it's all ready.

Got the cortisone shot on my left hip using the fluoroscope yesterday. The doctor was celebrating his 60th birthday. Guess I must have been his special gift. The local anesthesia shot held the pain down yesterday. There are signs of relief already today in the hip. The doc said it could take 2-3 days to know if it will work. Walking almost normally.

I sure hope that gives you some relief. I know first hand how you feel, the one I got in my shoulder blades in 2012, was wonderful, it is wearing off some now, but still not the pain  level it was. Now it is my lower back and hips.

I am interested in your results.
