It seems to me like the weeks are just flying by. I sometimes wonder where the time is going. I turn around and the weekend is here again, and that's a good thing.

This weekend we are readying for a show in a small town just east of us. Setting up this afternoon and going till Saturday evening. Looks like it will be hot and humid, but then what else would it be in August in Alabama.

It seems the more projects we send out the door, the more that are coming in. My two sons are working hard during the week while I am at the shooting range working and then Thursday and Friday and the weekend we all hit it hard. My shop was not really built to have three people working at the same time on different projects, but we seem to be finding a way to get them done. Emptying the dust collectors keeps one person busy!

So we have finished up a plain set of maple corn hole boards that will be painted white and later have the a decal of the shooting range on them to use at the range on First Saturday which is Burgers and Bullets.

The boys did a nice set of Maple boards with Alabama decals for another customer. We build the boards and them put the customers decal on of their favorite team before we spray a finish. @Ron Dudelston we even had a request for a set and put a Notre Dame decal on it. Hey it they provide the decal and the money, I will put them on for them.

We are also in the middle of a pretty good size job building ten 42" square Oak tables for a local church. Yesterday we got this one mostly together for our prototype so we would have all the measurements and figure out and assembly and clamping issues.

Lots of rounding over to do and fitting but we are about ready to start running all the pieces.

We are having fun and busy in the shop!

What's on your weekend agenda? We love to see your projects and hear all about them. Share your projects and pictures of your weekend agenda.

Whatever you do this weekend, have fun and be safe!

it appears that you've done enough, (and done it very well), for you, me and several others...

so I'll have to do less than I did last Monday to help maintain the equilibrium...

John, I’m pleased that you finally decided to add some class by building Notre  Dame boards.  It’s been restful around here this week.  My wife bought 4 dining room chairs that match our current t chairs so I’ve spent the week renovating them.  Yesterday, I built a license plate holder for the local AMVET post.  It is ost 23 and was chartered in 1950.  The plate was owned by a former member and local mayor.  It was a very rewarding project. CFDD96F4-2E92-43FB-BAAF-C96B6F3A21BC.jpeg

Wife has a "vintage" sewing machine that she takes out with her as it's the most portable.   She'd like a new box for it, so I'm working on that.   One issue is she doesn't want it too heavy, so I've had to re-saw and plane a bunch of boards down to 3/8" thick.  I am going to try box joints on the corners and think I have a good set up going, but it's a tight fit, so I may have to do some fiddling.

Tomorrow morning is cutting out parts for 64 tables for the furniture bank.  Usually takes 4-5 hours, but should go faster this time because we are now working on site and don't have to stretch-wrap all the parts, just stack them on the shelves.

Tomorrow night going down to Lost Art Press for Nancy Hiller's presentation.

why not Baltic Birch...

stronger and more stable...

Working on turned Iphone amplifiers. Just getting the design down to best performance.

Was on the road at 6:10 AM for Round 1 of various weekend transport duties. Once back & everyone else was out the door, made breakfast for me, finished my coffee, short walk with the dog, then the cat decided we should take a nap. After the nap was over, second round of coffee, retrieved the paper and scanned the new issue of family Handyman; cat thought appropriate we should take another nap. It must be the coffee.

Naps are over for now and will head out to finish the mowing this PM if the rains hold off. Tomorrow is our 90th wedding anniversary (45 for her 45 for me:P). Since the local Burger King nearly burned down late last week, I have dinner reservations Here. SS & Church Sunday...All other un-allocated time TBD based on weather and urgency.

i'd be worried about A) someone tipping that table over by leaning on the edge (as the legs don't extend to the edge of the top), and B ) someone leaning on the end of that table and snapping the glue joint in half, even with biscuits.  you do have some cross pieces underneath, right???

I don’t have the dimensions for the table but the rule of thumb is that the legs need to be 70% as wide as the top.  Looks like that is indeed the case here.

The weather finally produced a day that was reasonably pleasant. Got out and mowed the lawn and assembled 2 wicker glider chairs for the deck. Thanks to Dave, my JD is running like a deere.

moved water to the house.  got some tiling done, then it rained (yay!), and after a brief break, it's raining again (double yay!!).

tomorrow?  maybe do all the tiles around the perimeter that need to be cut to fit.

@DAB thanks for your concern. The upper supports come out past the glue joints on the top. The top is 42” and the base legs are 37” across. I was able to lean on it and not tilt it, however at my size I didn’t climb on top of it.

Im sure the angle I took the picture didn’t give a good view of all the details.

Thanks for your concern.

I will be out of the shop - and likely out of pocket for the weekend.

Picked up a Penske rental truck this afternoon, will head to Charleston SC first thing in the morning.  Help the son load up and we head for Columbus, OH.  Depending upon how everything goes we hope to make it to Charlotte before dark where we will hole up until daylight.  Should make Columbus Sunday evening early enough to unload.  I will hit a hotel at the airport and hope to make it to Atlanta sometime Monday.

If things do not work out that well, then we will just slide everything back a day or whatever is needed.

Catch back up with y'all next week...

be safe out there Cal...

Just trying to get healed up.....might get one little box done....maybe...will need to get that Stanley 45 cleaned up, a couple cutters sharpened back up, and get it all packed back into the box....anything else I need to bring along, for the Get together?

Safe travels. Hope all goes smoothly.

Got a picnic for the immediate family at a local park today.  The weather seems to have cooperated with sun and no rain today.
