July 28, 20187 yr Popular Post plumbing fix done. added two clean outs, replaced a pair of 90s with a pair of 45s. hoping for fewer blockages going forward. this is the drain line from the back patio to the pond (rainwater). but sometimes pine needles and dirt get into the pipes and block things up. then we get rising water just outside the back door. not good. $44 worth of parts and materials 10 cents worth of expertise $2 worth of labor. i'm not that smart, and i don't get paid much anymore. i did get a kiss from my wife. woot.
July 28, 20187 yr now all back filled and smoothed out on top. except for the tools i haven't put away yet, you'd never know i was there.

July 28, 20187 yr yes, i tested it before backfilling. no leaks detected, time to fill the hole up. first some pea gravel (it flows under the pipe nicely, supporting it), then the wet dirt back on top. it'll dry out over time.
July 29, 20187 yr Looks like I'll be working on a log house! The crew working on my son's is falling behind by a few months, so I'm coming out of retirement for the day. Hope I survive the experience! John
