April 30, 20188 yr Popular Post I finally went and done it. My R4512 finally stopped making good cuts so I got a Grizzly. I am SOOOOOOO impressed with this saw. Came with out a scratch on it. Easy to set up (with help). The hardest part was getting it to my shop. It weighs 300 lbs in the box. Got an appliance dolly and a great big friend to help me move it. Made several cuts with it today. If you are thinking about an up grade, this is a really good deal.

The only thing I have done to my tables saw is about a year after I purchased it, I outfitted it with a Beismeyer fence. Beyond that, great machines.
May 1, 20188 yr I also love my Biesmeyer fence John. Have it on my Jet contractor TS.Probably had it ten years or more, and it has been dead on accurate since day one.

I think the accuracy and reliability in the Bies, lies in the simplicity of it.
May 1, 20188 yr @skiler... How do I say this respectfully? Looks like Griz has done a major upgrade to their fence & rail system? Sweet looking addition to your shop. Enjoy! Oh, and thanks for rubbing it in so gracefully.
May 1, 20188 yr Author Quote Looks like Griz has done a major upgrade to their fence & rail system Yes they definitely did. The rails ae steel. The fence is cantankerous to get set up but once you get it, it is pretty nice. Worked with the saw all day today. I was sorry to have to leave the shop.

I like the t-tracks to use sacrificial fence, extensions, jigs, feather boards or what ever. Also the top rail for jigs, pushers... Rails look very robust and appears once locked the fence is secure. Does it move easily? BTW...just looked in the mirror and yep, I'm still green.
May 1, 20188 yr Author At first it didn't mover very well at all. There is a small Teflon dot that holds the fence against the back of the rail. I had to back that off some. It's still a little jerky but I think time and readjustment will make it smooth out.

I've seen a lot of guys on You-tube (not making it right) recommend waxing the fence rails and the fence bottom where it glides over the rails. I've never done that, but seriously thinking about trying it on my old Craftsman. Edited May 2, 20188 yr by Grandpadave52
May 2, 20188 yr My griz 1023 has a beis with steel box and it works great. I did upgrade the fence to the one Tolpin did in tablesaw magic.

I also put UHMW tape on the face of the fence... did it to the RT's fence too.. and the DP.. and the BS... and the shaper... and the jointer.. and the sole of the jigsaw.. and the circular saw... for that I got a no mar slick surface...
