January 4, 20188 yr The current WOOD Magazine has a good article on "Drill joinery" - screws, dowel joints, pocket screws, Miller Dowels, BeadLock, mortise and tenon joints, etc. Well covered. A couple of other articles on a compact workbench from 2-bys and glue comparisons. Best issue I've seen in a while.
January 4, 20188 yr Author I should add, I'm not a real fan of dowel-only joints. They tend to get loose over time because of wood expansion/contraction and minimal glue surfaces. In addition, you have to be really accurate in your layout and drilling or things don't fit together.
