June 5, 20178 yr Good morning to all of you Patriot Woodworkers. It is a beautiful day in east central Indiana. Low humidity, high today around 80 so it should be a great day to be in the shop building stock for summer shows. While skimming the local news site, I ran across this picture that gave me a chuckle. It looks like this dilligent mower is in immediate danger fbut hthe article said that the tornado really wasn't close and was headed away from them. None the less...... Let's hope your week isn't this exciting. So, what do y'all have going this week?

LOL, Keith - is this like hiding in the bushes hoping you won't be seen? I continue to work on my 2017 project - the upstairs remodel. I "think" I have the two bedrooms ready for paint - but SWMBO cannot decide on colors. We have tried four different color combos so far, without liking any of them! She is out of town this week, so I might go ahead and prime, but painting remains in limbo. On to the hall this week. I plan to install a couple recessed 4" fixtures, add crown moulding and simple board and batten type of wainscoting. I will do the laminated flooring when I do the bedrooms, towards the end of the entire project. Then on to the full bath when the hallway is ready for paint & flooring. Took the weekend off and we drove over to Charleston, SC for the weekend to visit our son. Had the best darned cut of meat I have ever tasted at Lewis BBQ in Charleston. Beef brisket. Should any of you get near there, I cannot recommend it enough! Cal Edited June 5, 20178 yr by clhyer
June 5, 20178 yr Popular Post Today is recover from the concussion day, and a strained neck.....left a dent in the wood, too. Have doors to get made. IF I can get a couple boards. The mitre box is sitting on the table, right now, trying to tear it down for cleaning and paint. may have to drag the Dremel out, and fire it up... Head hurts.....
June 5, 20178 yr Popular Post Low level bombing run accomplished. Caves filled in. Wait a couple days to see if any survived and dug out. Found one dead female that was still nursing. So, the cyanide worked for at least one....plus her offspring will likely starve. There's no way to tell how many are dead underground. We saw three peeking at us before the bomb run. Hope we killed the cute little b@#;@rds.
June 5, 20178 yr Popular Post @Gene Howe, Now you need a sniper to get the ones that dig themselves out and show themselves.

Sorry your head hurts, hope it gets better soon (and remember, today IS Monday)
June 5, 20178 yr No gopher problems here, but, I've never seen so many squirrels and chipmunks. My wife is an animal lover, so, how can I rid myself of all these critters without being obvious? Squirrels just bother the bird feeder, but the chipmunks are getting under the home.

June 6, 20178 yr Unfortunately, her osteoarthritis prevents her from even traveling 100 miles to visit family members.. I know getting rid of the bird feeders would help, but that would start a war.

June 6, 20178 yr Popular Post I started finishing a table for a customer. I made up a sample board for them to choose a finish. This is a family heirloom that had been painted at some point and the started removing the paint, gave up and brought it to me. so I got it cleaned and sanded and applied a brown Walnut dye. it was still wet when I took the picture. The dye really evened out. Now I'm putting on the clear finish. I worked this past week at a new indoor range a couple of my friends opened. I got a few minutes to step in the range and run a 15 round mag through my Glock 23. that was about bout it for my weekend. Finishing up the table tomorrow and then on to the next project. I'll be working at the range Wednesday thru Friday again in the mornings.
June 6, 20178 yr Popular Post You are certainly welcome. Get lots of practice here. But a lil' ole 22LR would cheaper to shoot. Haven't seen one since the bombing. Fingers crossed.
