May 29, 20178 yr I can't seem to find the exact American company who makes this wood plane and I would appreciate any help. The frog is stamped steel. I'll provide some pictures.
May 29, 20178 yr That is sure an unusual lever cap! BTW, welcome to the forum! Edited May 29, 20178 yr by Fred W. Hargis Jr
May 29, 20178 yr Also made by Pexto See IF I can find a couple more... And a look at the frog... Not the best plane out there...source for a few parts, is about it.
May 29, 20178 yr Author Popular Post @steve newman I bought it on EBay and it was in terrible shape. I completely redid the plane and now it works well and it also looks good. You should have seen the iron it had huge nicks in it and I took them out by hand. The plane works really well now without all the rust and I painted it to keep the rust from returning.

May 30, 20178 yr Biggest problem I found on those types of planes....that bolt that holds the lever cap...wiggles. Unless you get it super-tight, settings won't hold. The planes will take a beating. They were sold to the average weekend Honey-doer for those around the house items. Like a sticky window sash, or a passage door that was sticking. PEXTO sold their tools in Hardware stores, geared for such jobs. Their Chisels and Braces were first rate. They had a chuck for their Brace drills called Samson. Better than any other chucks at the time. had ball bearings inside, as well..

I reconditioned this to sell because I would like to get some more Stanley planes in the future.
