I have to admit, they show some clever uses for it.

Great idea!  I'll bet we could make a wooden one.

They seem a little spendy, but I sure could have used a couple  on the job to hang the cords and skilsaw on when stacking roofs. I think if I I made one ,it would be from BB plywood and I bet it would cost me as much with the webbing as the factory made ones.. just saying.

Velcro strips, yes. Pre-made Velcro straps are not cheap unless you by them in bulk for a price break. However, if you have a sewing machine, and can do it yourself it is a different story.

In order to get full strength you need to have a loop of some sort (left side) and the hook(s) (right side) which needs to be attached to the end to stick the loop side.  Just not worth the time, materials and the effort.

you are over thinking this Schnooge...

Clever idea...

Nooooo! You need to consider that you are under thinking it!

Velcro needs two parts to work; hook and loop. Neither sticks to itself. In order for a "Velcro" strap to work it needs to have both pieces combined as a unit. In this case, in order for the straps on the handle to work, it needs a strap like I posted above to be adjustable to whatever object that it is wrapped around.

keep thinking this out...

let me know when the lights come on...

okay...

Velcro® Brand Self-Grip Straps

Reusable. Hook on one side, loop on the other attaches back to itself for a secure closure....

also known as ''One Wrap''...

comes in short pieces ¼ ~ 2'' wide and up to 75' long...

@Stick486 here is your solution at that place you do not like Harbor Freight. Hook & loop cable strap  and cheap at 6.99 for 35 foot. I use this for cable ties on video cable for our turning club. Works well and lasts forever.

@Gerald...hadn't seen the 35' roll...I use both the 7" H&L Cable Ties and the 10" H&L Cable Ties to prevent tangle on portable tool cords when not in use as well as the desktop, TV and some short extension cords.

I watch for them to be on sale and then 20% Off coupon.  That and get  free flashlite, batteries, screwdriver set, 25' tape measure, multi-meter, 5x7 tarp, scissors and other great free stuff.:P
