Sjoberg Workbench (Whatdyathink?)

I may have to run out and grab this beauty. This would be prefect for a work station in my chair making process, it would not be my primary bench, but during the assembly process, or? I could also use the screw vises to clamp my steam bent back slats into the forms. Not too mention some hand work obviously can be done on this bench. The only thing I don't like is the rickety base? Or is it rickety?

I think the top with vises alone is worth more than what the fellow is asking, I could build a cabinet to go underneath. Opinions?

36" long by width I am not sure.

$250.00 and it's an hour and a half away.

I sure wood, if I had the room for it and the price is reasonable

That's another issue Ron, I am looking at my own lil space, I am not sure about the room, a total shop reorganization would be in order if this came in.

I have one of their benches with the cabinet under it and it is not rickety. I think the top dimension is 20 x 72 or somewhere in that neighborhood

Great find, excellent price. Grab it. Cabinets under would help with stability. As it is, it looks a little shaky. Maybe, do away with the present legs, cabinets only?

Need and usage are paramont.   The old saying," A place for everything and everything in its place."  Should be " A place for useful things" If you cannot use it on a regular basis, it could become that beautiful white wood elephant.

The top and vise are worth more than the $250 price. Don't think of the base as being "Rickety" but "Minimalist". :P

Where do you have to go to pick it up at John?

Aliso Viejo. I am humming and hawing over it.

John, don't let it get away. As others have said, just those two vises are well worth the money.

Hey, what's a 3 hour drive for that beauty? Unless that Dodge can't handle it.:D

That ol Dodge is long go Gene! I have two cars, a 2001 Expedition, and a 2009 Corolla, I guess the only option is the Expedition.

Seats fold down? Disassemble the top from the rickety minimalistic legs and you're good to go.

Let us know when you're safely back home and have it unloaded in the shop:lol:

I'd jump on it for that price. Don't wait and let it get away.

May be gone already.......

If you could find a wood worker you could get him or her to fix the rickety base to suit and even use some pine....

I guess that is what is wrong with my wood working skills, I have never had a work, assembly construction type work bench. I used a solid core door for years but then finally decided to put it back in its place as a door.

In a hot minute, I'd jump on it.

Well guys, sorry for the false alarm, it's only 14" wide. Just a lil baby. I know it's worth more than 250, even with the narrow width, but I cannot use it for the purpose I was hoping for. Thanks for all the feedback!
