DC cflux 2.0

Featured Replies

Hi all I am looking a purchasing a c-flux 2.0 HP machine from Laguna Tools and I mentioned I got their link from this site so I want to know is the cflux a good machine?

Michael, I have no personal experience with this machine, but with Laguna's name on it, IMHO, maybe a bit pricey, but their tools and equipment seem to carry good reputations and extremely positive Customer Service...always worth something there. I don't think Woodcraft or Rockler or other's would offer them if there wasn't some high degree of confidence in the product...again JMHO.

Hopefully someone here can give their personal perspective...in the mean time, you probably already have read most but here are some links with other users views.

Thanks looks like I got this for a good deal and it is a good machine.

Hey everyone I posted this in the wrong forum.

Mr. Administrator if you can move me to the tools not the hand tools that would be grand.

Cool beans...sounds like you already pulled the plug and either have one or it's on the way? Looking forward to your experiences and review...

The DC Laguna C-flux showed up fully assembled.  I will have to disassemble it before I can put it in its final resting place.

i contacted Laguna and their help and support is amazing.  The cheap block and tackle are ordered to help me lift the motor and impeller off the unit from high up. Then I just reverse their assembly instructions.  I will be a month or so before I get it operational.

The DC is finally in the basement.  Now comes a question.

Tubing what type and kind do you use?

Schedule 40 PVC will get rather expensive as I go from 4" to 6" to 8".

HVAC ducting 28GA has said to work and I like that it is grounded. But other say the wye's and T's are backward for DC.

Oneida has a good selection but is costly for a small shop.

metal single wall... use 24 or 26 GA makes for a way better install..

so rotate the fittings.pipe 180°...

get a pair of crimpers and make changes as required...

the crimps hammer right out if you need to remove them...  lay the crimp on a hard/largest round possible and tap away...

use saddle taps instead of fittings...

use this type of reducers when you can.. as you can see - you need to add the crimps as required...

If you stay with PVC you want the lighter weight stuff. It's called by a lot of names, but technically it's ATSM D2729 (it will be printed on the side. Names include (but not limited to( DWV, soil pipe, thinwall, and sewer pipe). There is one heavier schedule (3034) that can be used, but even it's a little heavy when you're hanging it. Metal has a wider range of sizes, and snaplock (the heavier stuff like Stick mentioned) is very good, you do have more seams to seal (use foil tape) and finding true wyes can be tough, the saddle tees help a lot. I'd take a run at how much you need (including fittings) and price both...be aware, the 6" PVC can be very hard to find in some areas, but I was able to snag some at the Habitat store for next to nothing.

I have found that the 3034 pvc does not fit the "standard" dc fittings like the D2729 does. I have the D2729 in my shop.
