Popular Post steven newman Posted December 27, 2016 Popular Post Report Posted December 27, 2016 Has finally came back "on-line".....scary thought... Working out some details to build a case to hold the boxes I have been a-building....and maybe a drawer or two. maybe like a chest-of-drawers? Need to make the sides and top. Might be whatever wood comes into the shop during the build. Might see quite a bit of work done with the Stanley 45, too. Might need to resaw a few things down, too. Start time is after the 5th jan. Doc visit. Will post updates of the build, and the knee. Stay tuned. Grandpadave52, Fred W. Hargis Jr, HARO50 and 5 others 8 Quote

steven newman Posted December 29, 2016 Author Report Posted December 29, 2016 Going to wait awhile ,Mr. Gumption has left the building for now, Not allowed to lift over 10 pounds right now. Cross cuts would have to be on the saw bench, with a KNEE holding things in place.....no happening. Pushing a board across the bandsaw might be a stretch. IF I can get the board up there to begin with. Not sure how much a fully loaded Stanley 45 weighs, and then show it along a board.....at least I could set the plane up. One trip down to the shop today, was about all the knee wanted to handle.....suppose I could push a pencil across some note pads....and see how I do at actually drawing up a plan.... Plan? Plan? What is a plan? HARO50, Grandpadave52, Dadio and 1 other 4 Quote

John Moody Posted December 30, 2016 Report Posted December 30, 2016 Take care of the knee. Don't rush it along too fast. It will be there when the time is right. steven newman 1 Quote
woodworker40 Posted December 30, 2016 Report Posted December 30, 2016 Steve it was last Jan. 5th 2016 that I had my right knee replaced. The doctor said it could be a year before the pain is all gone, and he was right in the last month the pain has gone away. The pain was getting really bad before the replacement and as it turns out I am glad I did it. HARO50, John Moody and steven newman 3 Quote
steven newman Posted December 30, 2016 Author Report Posted December 30, 2016 Mine was "scoped about two weeks ago......having one of the"bad" days today.....debating between another Yuengling Lager, or a Norco pain pill....awaiting the morning of the 5JAN 17 to see what they say. Had one doctor that would only go two routes...shots or replacement......never even said a word about scoping the knee. Wasn't something he could make money on, I guess. Went to a Sports Med Place for a second opinion.....they decided right away I needed the scope done. Might try to set up the Stanley #45 as a sash plane tomorrow. At least I can do that much. Not sure IF I'll get to use it..... Grandpadave52 and HARO50 2 Quote
Gene Howe Posted December 30, 2016 Report Posted December 30, 2016 Careful, Steve. Setting up that 45 may require repurposing that single cell. Grandpadave52, steven newman and HARO50 3 Quote
