shoe me your Lathe & Router DC solutions pls

Featured Replies

I got my DC to each machine but the lathe  and the router are  open questions   What do you do for DC at those stations,  what would you prefer   - - - and  why?  Post pics pls

thx

My router table is mounted in place of one of the table saw wings. I use an extension hose to connect the router fence port to the main connection. Of course this method only works when using the fence.

For the lathe, I plumbed a hose directly behind the lathe. I have an extension piece to get close to small work. I really need to make some sort of "hood" to make the dust collection more efficient.

I took a golf bag cart salvaged on trash night and came up with this gizmo using the adjustable handle.  It is on a track and can be moved from one lathe to another.

Don't have a good router table solution and as for the lathe you're never going to control shavings. You can minimize dust when sanding but shavings happen.  No pictures but I do have a little video showing my setup.  It's patterned after a camera boom video that Carl Jacobson did.

Steve,

You can "embed" a YouTube video in your posts by simply pasting the YouTube share link into the post content. Don't use the "Link" button in the post header selections. This doesn't work for all site videos but does work for YouTube.

Nice idea for the articulate arm.

Lew, it's my age and CRS, I thought I'd embedded a video before, just couldn't remember how I'd done it. I'll have you tell me again in a few weeks! :)

 I suffer from the same malady!

This may get complicated. for the lathe I have a home made scoop with adjustable pipe for the placement of the scoop. For the Router table is based on Norm's table.with a lower pickup for under router and a fence pickup for top of the table. Note there is a baffle inside the table so the pickup will get all the inside floor.
