June 3, 201610 yr comment_66671 My daughter brought me a cardboard box of free wooden items from a garage sale. Small shelves, etc. All were the same color and in bad shape. She got them for me and I wasn't about to tell her they were junk. My wife liked a couple of pieces and I kept the bigger ones. I was 100% sure they were made of stained pine. So I cut one piece just for the h(e)ll of it. It was a beautiful soft wood of many colors. I am sure it was made in a far eastern county. I glued up what I could to make another tree ornament. Anyone know what kind of wood they use. I'm sure it is cheap, it is very soft and probably grows fast. Report

I suspect it came from over seas and I kept an eye out for more but never found more. It was a 2X4 about 10 inches long so I made a winged box with it. Dan Report

I have never tried anything winged yet for fear of taking off a finger LOL but I guess I better try it some day soon. Report
