February 6, 201511 yr I made another pizza dough roller, as a gift this time, the Celtic knot is much better. I used Coco Bolo, (at least I think it was) and maple. I used nylon spacers as bearings and used an old cheese cutter for the handle assembly. The one I made for myself really works good
February 6, 201511 yr Hey Ron, first off, way cool looking, and secondly, why is it slanted like that?
February 6, 201511 yr Author I had a plastic pizza dough roller for many years, until it just fell apart. It too was slanted. I think the main purpose of the slanting is that it allows you to roll the dough to the rim of round pans easier. A straight one would leave gaps.

February 6, 201511 yr nice work on the roller Ron. The wood doesn't look like cocobolo to me it looks more like Jobillo or Mora but with a picture on a PC it can be difficult to tell.
February 6, 201511 yr Author The wood came from my scrap and it has a deep red and purple mixture. Kinda threw me. I thought it had just oxidized and would change color when I cut, but it didn't.
February 10, 201511 yr Author I have been making pizzas for more than 40 years, starting with Chef Boyardee I kept perfecting it till I got it right. Each one of those pizzas was taste tested, eaten and washed down with beer (even when they didn't turn out to good.)
