August 12, 201114 yr I am a scroller!  First machine I ever bought was a pinned machine and only ran at one speed.  lol  I outgrew that machine in about a week when I realized I couldn't get those pinned blades through little drilled holes. Gave this one to my brother. I stepped up to a Delta for my second machine.  It had variable speeds and was pinless.  I gave this machine a workout, but always had trouble with the mechanism that held the blades which was constantly falling apart. Hubby tired of hearing me complain about the blade mechanism, surprised me with a DeWalt 788 which I currently use. Seems I wore out the first motor on the DeWalt - magnets had detached on the motor.  Until it stopped running, I didn't even know it had magnets in the motor.  I'm now on my second motor and all is well.  Everything is running smoothly.  Delta is still in the corner of the shop for those times my primary machine is in the shop.  Can't be without a scroll saw.  lol   SQ It it can't be fixed with glue and sawdust - it's not worth fixing.
August 12, 201114 yr Steve,I was going to email you and tell you about this site.  lol  Guess you already found it.  Hope all is going well for you. SQ Steve Hovious said:I use a 1950's Delta 24" variable speed scroll saw. We just moved so I have to wait to get back in it once I get a shop set up. 'True patriotism hates injustice in its own land more than anywhere else.' -- Clarence Darrow
