August 2, 201114 yr Ken, when I got a new DeWalt, I had to square it front to back in order to get true vertical cuts.  Found out I had to bring the back of the table up almost 1/2" to get it square.  This is not really a fault with the 788's, it is just set for a more agressive cut. ps - also had to modify my EX-21 as well. FredKen Cooper said:I just got a new Dewalt scrollsaw and I am having a problem squaring the blade. When I use a 2" square and square the blade I will cut a small circle it is smaller at the bottom then the top. I go slow and am careful not to hurry. If I level the table top it is worse. My old scroll saw never gave me this problem. I do intarsia work only. It is driving me crazy!! If anyone out there lives in the New Orleans area let me know.Greg Aksdal said:

August 3, 201114 yr Ken, I have a couple of suggestions - works for me when I get into that trouble. When squaring the blade (left and right), I always have a sheet of paper laying on the table so I can better see any gap between the blade and the square.  Also, I double and triple check the squareness (is that a word?) from both sides.  My little square is too tall to work like it was designed so I have to rotate the square so the short end can get next to the blade. Hope one of these works for you.  Let us know. Fredwww.pops-shop.comKen Cooper said:I just got a new Dewalt scrollsaw and I am having a problem squaring the blade. August 4, 201114 yr I use a plastic protractor to check mine, the same type you can find in any store woth school supplies.  Greghttp://www.thesawdustfactory.net/
August 4, 201114 yr You can also use a piece of any hard wood the is cut to a good 90 and you control the height of the board. Take a piece of walnut, hard maple what ever you have laying around. Cut a piece say 6" x 2" and verify the ends are square and the bottom is flat. Lay this on your scroll saw table top and move it to the blade. Any gaps ? Adjust accordingly and recheck. Wayne MahlerGod bless and protect our troops that serve so we can be free.
