September 15, 201213 yr Charles, what kind of blades are you using? Where are you getting them from? Edited November 13, 20187 yr by Larry Buskirk
September 15, 201213 yr My bad. It looks like your saw has guide bearings, not guide blocks. Forget what I said about replacing them but adjustments are the same. About a dollar bill's thickness from the blade. Oh, a $20 will work if that's all you have. Edited November 13, 20187 yr by Larry Buskirk
September 15, 201213 yr Author Thanks Gene I'll check that, even though the blade doesn't actually touch the bearing except for the back edge of the blade. John, These are Bosch blades. I get them from Lowes. Edited November 13, 20187 yr by Larry Buskirk
September 15, 201213 yr Sorry I should have asked, what size are the blades Charles, length and TPI. Edited November 13, 20187 yr by Larry Buskirk

September 17, 201213 yr Charles, how's your band saw going? www.bandsawblog.com Edited November 13, 20187 yr by Larry Buskirk
September 17, 201213 yr Author Well so far it's doing ok, but I haven't had a chance to do anything more than wipe it down. Since the blade is such a pain to get back on, I'll wait until the blade breaks or slips off to actually clean it further. Thanks for asking. Edited November 13, 20187 yr by Larry Buskirk
September 17, 201213 yr Looks like you're getting the career of cleaning your saw, Charles. BTW, are you still having a hard time in getting the blades back on your saw? www.bandsawblog.com Edited November 13, 20187 yr by Larry Buskirk
September 17, 201213 yr Author They are generally a pain because of the third wheel that it needs to go on. but the last time I had a bit easier time, maybe I'm just getting used to a good way to get it on there I don't know. Edited November 13, 20187 yr by Larry Buskirk
September 17, 201213 yr I think you just need to get the rhythm there, Charles. You're probably going through some pain, though. www.bandsawblog.com Edited November 13, 20187 yr by Larry Buskirk
September 17, 201213 yr Charles, pm me your address, I got a brand new Timber Wolf Blade coming out to you, lets get a high quality blade on there and see if that might help. I have been doing some searching around and all indicators point to anything less then a high quality blade on those three wheel saws your sol. So a new Timber Wolf coming your way! Just need your address. Cheers! Edited November 13, 20187 yr by Larry Buskirk

September 19, 201213 yr James cool blog man! I think we really need to fire up a page here on our site showcasing our members blogs. Edited November 13, 20187 yr by Larry Buskirk
September 20, 201213 yr Charles, see the response I got from Woodcraft and Timber Wolf, seems part of the problem is the blades you've been using are too big for the three wheel machines. John, Thank you for your recent order for the Timberwolf blade. The manufacture sends this item out direct and they came back to us with a question for you. They would like to know if this blade was ordered for a 3 wheel saw? If so, they do recommend using a thinner blade such as a 0.018 or 0.014 thickness instead of this one which is a 0.025. Please let us know at your earliest convenience as they are awaiting your reply before they ship the item out. Edited November 13, 20187 yr by Larry Buskirk
September 20, 201213 yr And here is the next reply they sent me: John, Unfortunately Timber Wolf does not have a blade for your machine. You may contact Supercut at 1-800-356-9918 or http://www.supercutbandsaw.com/threewheeler.html. They make a blade for a 3 wheel machine. Please feel free to contact us again if we may be of further assistance. Edited November 13, 20187 yr by Larry Buskirk
September 21, 201213 yr Author Thanks John, For the Craftsman 10" Band Saw they suggest either a 1/4" or a 1/8", Since I have had so many problems with the blade just up and breaking, there would be no way I would want to try a 1/8" blade. Same tension on a smaller blade, just doesn't make sense to me. It's interesting though that they were all ready to send the blade out and then suddenly don't have it. Thanks for trying though. September 21, 201213 yr It's not that they were ready to send it out Charles, they do have the quarter inch blades but they recommended against them. It was going to be a custom size blade, I plug in the length in the calculator on the Woodcraft site and it calculates the cost and I ordered it. I ordered the 1/4" they have plenty of the 1/4" stock to make blades of any length. They were really good about getting back to me and stating that the typical 3 wheel takes the narrower blade. There are many reasons why the wider blade would snap over the narrow one. If you go to the site they recommend, you'll see the reason why normal blades don't' cut it on these three wheelers. They have a great explanation why blades break on the three wheelers, it's a great read on the subject. I am going to invite them to come on and see if they can give us some feedback on which type of blade would be best for your application. Once we figure this out, you still got a new blade coming to you Charles! I'm not giving up this easy! Edited November 13, 20187 yr by Larry Buskirk
