Hi, I'm brand new here so please forgive any missteps I may make while getting to know the community and its rules and customs. I could use some advice on air filtration in my workshop located in the unfinished basement of my house which was built in 1930. The space is 10' x 12' and has an 80" ceiling (exposed joists). I don't do much with chemicals, just sawing and sanding. I have dust collection and a full-face respirator. The air flow considerations regarding the placement and use of the air scrubber I just bought are beyond me. The machine is an Abestorm Filterair HEPA V3. I intended to hang it from the joists in the Southeast corne…

Picked up a 20 volt drill yesterday off of Craigslist. It was still sealed in the box. Paid $40.00 for it because I paid that much for a replacement 19V battery a while back. He had another one that was opened and charged up. It features a pulse mode instead of a hammer mode. I left it in the box, thinking I might give it as a Christmas gift. We celebrate our second anniversary in this house on April 8. Yesterday, I got my table saw re assembled, hooked up and actually cut a piece of wood for the first time since we moved. My smile must have lit up the whole township. I still have a long way to go (although, the planer, jointer, RAS, and drill press are also functional) but I'm really seeing the light at the end of the tunnel now.

Yesterday, my 12 year old Crapsman jigsaw (Sabre saw if you wish) died. Motor runs but won’t oscillate. I’m in the market for a new one even though I don’t use it often. Black Friday is coming so tell me, “What’s your brand of choice?”

I had a ZC plate for my Bosch 4100 benchtop saw, but didn't want to mess up the factory plate wit a 45 degree setting so I ordered a pack of ZC tape from Fast Cap. Took longer to open the plastic package than to install. I made a couple of cuts, and it performed well. There are 5 strips in a pack and that will be more than enough for my needs. Herb
