  1. Patriot Woodworker and Iraq Veteran Mark Wilson is getting a new pair of glasses to help him see much better! The catch, they cost a ton of money. You all may know Mark Wilson as the young man we helped acquire a shop full of woodworking tools for. Through our supporters Easy Wood Tools, Laguna Tools, Bessey Tools, and Woodcraft Supplies, and with the help of many of our members, we were able to help Mark get a good jump start on his new shop. Well, I was perusing Facebook and I noticed there are some folks who are helping Mark acquire some super glasses by eSight Electronic Glasses for the heavily visually impaired. If you'd like to help make a difference in Mark's life, feel free to drop on over to the GOFUNDME page where the campaign fundraiser is taking place. You'll also notice we have installed a nice little box with Marks image at the right column of our community page here on The Patriot Woodworker, you may also click on it to be taken to the GOFUNDME page. 3. Well Patriot Woodworker's, Mark's surgery did not go that well at all. It is very frustrating for him, but he seems to be doing fine. For a refresher on what he was going in for please click on Please read a brief description in Mark's words of how his surgery went. Remember Mark is sight challenged, so some of the text is a tad jumbled. Thanks for your prayers!!!!!!!!! Unfortunately my sure very didn't gas planned. They tried fives times take a the flap from my forearm and put it in my jaw. It look good at first then quit pumping blood. So they took it out because it was just going to die. I reLly sore can't use my left arm at al. Bruises overBs ski graph o. My left thigh mKes it hard to walk. an you te robduleston thanks for the prayers please? Thats awesome to hear that the Easy Wood Tools have been shipped !!!!!!!!!! Sorry if I wasn't in a very good mood the other day, been a lot going on, I kepy asking the nurses while I was at the hospital if they gave me all morning and night medicines, turns out the new doctor technician didn't tell the nurses to give them again after surgery, so the while time i was in the hospial not havung my 21 different medicines like glycoma eye drops, fluxetine, topiramate and others. en this surgery was a bust, in a lot of pain for nothoing. to day the doctor i like took my pain pump out because it wasn't needed anymore. He said my inscicions looked great and took those stitches out. The doctor said my forearm and my left upper thigh skin graph looked great as well. But unfortunately he won't let me shave my face yet. I already have a week long beard and it itches like the dickens and is bout 3/4 inch long. Hhe wont let me take a shower yet either. guess its back to feild showers but least I get hot water!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So hows your family doing? what have you been uo ti in your shop? Mark should be going home soon, I believe he'll be home this weekend for sure. He sure is going through hockey sticks on this one, but he does not complain much guys, he has his adorable little daughter and loving family to go home to. Please keep Mark in your prayers, and remember, we have a ton of work to do still on his tools and machinery list! Please go to Marks Page and donate whatever you can, we are getting ready to close down this event at the end of the month, and we have so much work to do yet, thank you all for thinking of Mark this past week or so. And Mark, if you are able to read this, take care man, you have been in our prayers and thoughts. I'll give ya a call when you get out!!!
  4. Mark is going in for another bout of surgeries tomorrow. He'll be away for a week or more. Mark has undergone over 60 plus reconstructive surgeries that have helped reform his face and jaw. For those unfamiliar with Mark, please click on Mark Wison, Combat Engineer. Here is a brief description of the surgery he is undergoing tomorrow in Marks own words. There going to take the layer of skin under my top layer on my forearm to put in my jaw to make the tissue in there softer so I can open my mouth more. So later on they can fix the hole in my pallet ( roof of mouth ) and put my teeth back in my jaws as well. After that is jaw some small facial surgeries dealing with scars I believe. I have to ask the doctors to talk like a normal person instead all medical terms to understand them half the time. ~Mark Wilson~ Mark is a remarkable young man, on top of all this, he is completely dedicated to his lil daughter, and the shop he is growing now as your donations roll in. Mark wants to be financially independent by making a living off of woodworking, and he is on his way now thanks to all of you and our supporters who have donated to his shop. He'll be able to start up his own business, and provide for his little girl. If you all want to send Mark a nice message and or prayers, please leave them off here in this discussion, he does check in frequently, daily as a matter of fact. Our site is not very friendly to the visually impaired so his efforts are limited here, but he does look in all the time. Thank you friends, and keep Mark in your prayers.
