  1. This is the problem to have, I guess. I need a hose about 50 feet long and about 2” diameter. That part’s easy. The hard part is (A) it’s gotta be very flexible (think Pool Vacuum hose) and (B) it can not be made from regrinds because it’ll be flexing 24-7 and pool hoses are made from regrinds these days and they all break after a few days. I can get food-grade virgin plastic hoses, but they are nowhere near as flexible as I need. I can get flat cloth and rubber hoses but they kink when they flex They make fine discharge hoses but don’t work for my purpose. I used to use pool hoses and years ago they were made from virgin plastic so they’d last year after year, but no more. I have some PVC hose that is pretty flexible and has a spiral steel wire molded into it for strength. I’m going to try it but I don’t like the idea of the wire. If it breaks I’ll have that sharp wire whipping all over the place. The damage could run to 4- thousand dollars. Making up end connections is not a problem. Got any ideas?

    Gutter clean out tool

From an internet series....decided to buy some extra hose.. Needed some glue, too. . And some plastic pipe and a few parts. I cut the 10' pipe down a bit, and then cut the cut-off into a few other parts... I now have some purple, sticky fingers, but...part 1 is installed.. Checked to make sure the hose will screw onto this. Pipe is 3/4" schedule 40..... OK, at the other end of the 8' pipe.. Is the "Hook" that will reach down into the gutter, while I stay on the ground....there is a cap at the end of the hook.. So, with the hose turn up full blast, this is now a sprayer....to wash the leaves and other junk down the gutter toward the down spout. May need to add some "grippy tape" for a handle... Might be safer than me walking around up on the roof....test dry when the weather improves... Glue and the hose were the "big ticket" items....we'll see how it works...
  3. Just perusing the net this morning before work, and I stumbled across this vacuum hose reel. Of course we could make our own, but to see the pro model demoed is fun. Here is their website: Fast Cap Super Reel I have no horse in the game, just showing and telling.
