Our daughter Army PFC Tiffany Morris graduated from her Defense Language Institute Russian Program this past Thursday. This has a been a long journey for our girl, from Basic Training to learning Russian, she has earned every bit of the rewards she receives now and in to the future. In Basic Training our girl completed virtually the entire training with a fractured pelvis, marching, exercises, schools, courses, mock battle, all of it with her injury, she gained respect from her fellow soldiers for her toughness and willingness to tough it out, she spent only one day with the medic for her injury, was given the choice to get fixed and be delayed, or return back to her platoon with a bottle of aspirin, she chose to return back to her platoon. Shortly after returning a few days later she did the dead man lift and carry, she was assigned to a young man, her mission, dead lift the young man and get him to safety, she injured herself even further, when asked by her Drill if she needed to go see the doc, she said no and she sucked it up, drove on, and completed the training. This is nothing short of true soldiering. At the time PVT Tiffany Morris day of Basic Training Graduation, with mama on left, and siblings on right. She was limping this day. Then she arrived at The Defense Language Institute in Monterey CA, where she learned her language as a Cryptologic Linguist 35P MOS. She chose the complex language of the Russian people. With many challenges and ups and downs, she completed the year plus long program taught by Russian and Ukraine immigrant citizens, and she has finally graduated with her class this past Thursday. As a family we cannot express our pride enough for our solider, she faced down incredible odds and challenges, and she drove on, she pulled through, and soon she'll be on her way to AIT, another block of training in Texas for a couple months, and she already has her orders for Germany, attached to an Infantry Division where she'll use her learned skills to work with her fellow soldiers and serve our nation. About | Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center WWW.DLIFLC.EDU Last July visit with our soldier during her leave for a few days at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey CA. I wish we had a photo of her today in uniform but we just haven't gotten any lately. Tiffany Morris, we love you daughter, thank you for your service to the greatest nation under Gods watch, and we pray that you and your fellow soldiers find your way back home to your families, every time and all the time. Note: @HandyDan, latest news on pens received by our daughter, she has given pens to her fellow soldiers and they love them, she stated to me that the next time she presents a pen she'll have a nice photo in uniform so we can share here with all the Patriot Woodworker folks. They are going over like gang busters, thanks sir again!
