There are times I use a sanding block and there are times I need to hand sand because of the curves on the object I am sanding. Recently when I was helping my daughter refinish a piece of furniture I felt I needed something in between and came up with this idea. I took a 4"x4"x1/2" piece of packing foam, laid down 4 pieces of double sided tape on the foam then pressed that onto a 4"x4" piece of sand paper. Not as abrupt as a sanding block, not as flexible as hand sanding.....in between. I use it now all the time on sharp wood edges and moderate curves.

Have a few pieces of curved base to make for the basement, and I somehow deleted my plans from the auto Cad program
