Gene I started by drawing the round scallop things all over it from the top hole down to the foot. Then i burned all of that. Then I took a micromotor tool with a diamond burr and scooped out the wood from each scallop. Then I burned the lines then colored it.

Impressive!! My first thought was it was made from a large pine cone. It took a lot of thought, planning and patience. Great job.
