    For the top/finial I wish I could tell you there was a method to the madness. I was looking for something really different and I started by cutting the outlined shape on my bandsaw. From there I literally spent ten hours carving and sanding until I ended up with what you see. I can't say that it ended up like I had thought it out in my head but it was definitely different or unique. It was a lot of work and took about ten hours for the top/finial alone.  Thanks, Big B
