Grandpadave52 Members August 29, 20178 yr Author stats The perch is equally as awesome too... This guy looks ready to take off at any moment. Very cool!
Dale Felice Members August 29, 20178 yr Author stats Thank you! The rough in time was only 20 minutes or so. The finish is what takes the most. This was a cherry log from a tree in my new back yard. There's more to come!
Grandpadave52 Members August 29, 20178 yr Author stats Did you do some burning on it or is it airbrushed?
Dale Felice Members August 29, 20178 yr (edited) Author stats Both. I burn heavy then flap sand with a sand O flex. Then burn again. Then airbrush. I then coat with log oil. Edited August 29, 20178 yr by Dale Felice
Dale Felice Members August 29, 20178 yr Author stats The cherry has a dark hue so it fit the bill nicely.
Grandpadave52 Members August 29, 20178 yr Author stats It turned out great IMO...my perception of the base is a stone or cliff side appearance. I really like the look.
Dale Felice Members August 29, 20178 yr Author stats Yes it's stone. I used white paint brushed with black spray paint and tinted teak log oil for color variance. I did it before and it was stellar!
