The finish just really did it, that was truly the icing for this project, great work, wonderful image. I may have missed it somewhere, I am sure I did, what did you use for the finish?

    1st coat:  a 70/30 mix of BLO and gloss varnish......rubbed down with 0000 steel wool,  next two coats were just plain clear gloss varnish, rubbed out between with the same wad of 0000 steel wool. 

     

    May use it again, too.
