July 16, 201312 yr I hope it's the last time too John, I'm tired of all the down time. Such great toolwork here ladies an gents I only wish I had the patience and tools for this kind of work. If I had at least the tools, I bet I could find the patience lol Now, for the work I CAN do Getting the knob that I started just before the lathe went out, shaped a bit more. Starting to take the shape of a knob but there's a lot of wood to get rid of here, but there is also a problem. I see a crack already in the wood. If it goes too deep, I wont be able to use this piece. It's apple by the way. If I can't use it, I will go to plan B which is a piece of Black walnut or walnut that I found yesterday rummaging through one of my wood scrap boxes. By the way. If anyone has any scraps that they want to get rid of by the end of the month, let me know and I'll shoot ya a PM about cost etc. I use scraps of all sizes so don't be shy. July 17, 201312 yr Author Crown of thorns? No - have done a couple of the others, though. Â With my EX-21 I don't have the throat problems, sometimes my belly gets in the way or my arms get too short or both ! ! ! ! ! Â (big grin here)Wayne Mahler said:FredI have most of the story crosses from Sue Mey. Love cutting them. The only problem is they are 18 inches tall and my saw is a 16 inch. Did yo ever get the pattern for the crown of thorns? I just cut 2 more of them for orders. Fred Wilson said:Wayne MahlerGod bless and protect our troops that serve so we can be free.
