Another weekend has flown by - seems these weekends are coming way too fast now adays.

What great projects did y'all get completed (or working on) this past weekend ? ? ??  gifts, furniture, turnings, anti rusting, etc.

As for me, I'm having trouble getting back in the swing of this after being gone for over a month.  Only got a couple of things cut but not finished.  I had better get on the stick because we have a one-day show coming up this coming weekend.

I piddled a bit with the lathe but didn't do much because I was in the wait mode for the new headstock to appear, which it did today. So tomorrow I will get that switched out and I hope that I will be turning again by Wednesday.

Scrounged enough pieces to cut/glue my attempted segmented turning ring- just the ring not the complete turning.

Cleaned and restore five planes on Saturday. Spent Sunday afternoon with my wife in Southern Tenn shopping. Neither of us bought anything, but had a great time out together. Stopped on the way home and enjoyed a large Chocolate Shake together.

Spent Friday and Saturday at an ol Army buddies home in Joshua Tree CA. We hung out, barbecued, and took an evening drive through Joshua Tree National Park, it was fabulous, the desert has a mystical attraction that I just love. Desolate, quiet, and forever. The sunset was awesome.

Sunday I spent a few hours drawing up a Shaker cabinet set for a laundry room a customer wants done. Glad everyone had a great weekend, and welcome back Fred!!!

Wayne - great work.  Have often looked at both of those but have not attempted cutting them.

Sounds like everyone had a great weekend.  Back to work.  Gotta show this weekend.

Wayne,

Very nice pieces!  Last time I used my scroll saw was to make inside cuts on baseboards.

Happiness is wood chips flying!

One plane refurbbed and listed on feebay,   Yard sale find, but I already had three other Millers Falls #4 sized planes.    Placed two others of this size on the feebay as well.

Cleaning up two 1" wide chisels,  might have to dig out the lathe, and turn a new handle for the one.

Try out the "New" mower we bought.    Paid $40 for it, then the next day's rust hunt, we found four others, all at about half of what we paid.     Of course, Murphy being Murphy, IF we hadn't bought the first one, NONE of the others would have been seen.... Love it..

Planer? I'm the 'planer', and these are what I use...

Those are beautiful, Wayne!

Fred

I have most of the story crosses from Sue Mey. Love cutting them. The only problem is they are 18 inches tall and my saw is a 16 inch. Did yo ever get the pattern for the crown of thorns? I just cut 2 more of them for orders.
