September 11, 201312 yr I've posted this on a few forums so you may have already seen it. I still wanted to share it with my friends here. I call it "Spiral Dream" because what I had planned to make for the contest put on by Baileigh tools, is by no means what came off my lathe. I don't even remember exactly where or when I changed my mind, all I know it, this is what came off the lathe. It's made of Bubinga, stands 16.5" tall & 5" in diameter. At its thinnest point it's 1/16" thin. I used Glaser Mini QR tools to do most of the work on a Powermatic 4224. Anyway, please enjoy.

September 11, 201312 yr Bill, that is a masterpiece, what an incredible piece of art, it is amazing how you work the wood like this. To me, it is like magic how you get from a block of wood, to this. The wood is beautiful, the finish is amazing, and your photography is nice too I might add! So, the million dollar question, how the heck do you do this!Bill Wyko said: I actually did win the contest. They're great folks at Baileigh. John MorrisThe Patriot Woodworker
