December 9, 201312 yr In found this can of Mary Carter Linseed Oil in an old building we were going through the other day. Made by Mary Carter Paint Co. Any of you know anything about Mary Carter Paint Co without Googling it? The Company was the successor of a company started in 1908. In 1958 the company that would be Mary Carter paint started and soon bought out several of it's competitors. Victor Paint Company in 1962 and Atlantic Paint Company in 1963. Where it really turns interesting is there move into resorts. http://www.fundinguniverse.com/company-histories/resorts-international-inc-history/ http://www.sptimes.com/News/073000/Business/From_paints_to_Paradi.shtml And this one is really interesting. http://soundproofsuite1850.blogspot.com/2008/01/homework-assignments-on-mary-carter.html You just never know what story a can might tell.
December 10, 201312 yr Now that's truly intriguing. One might wonder if Oswald might have had a paycheck from Mary Carter.

September 8, 20187 yr @John Moody for awhile there could not stay out of the "Picker" stores, this was during the time when we were all watching American Pickers, and John was leading the way in picking up great finds from his travels. John was the first American Picker on The Patriot Woodworker. He led the way in pickin! I still watch the re-runs, is it still a live show? This topic brought up from our archives.

Yeah, they still do a new show every now and then. I’m still picking but lately it has been guns. Just didn’t post them in the wood working picking. I dove hunted with a couple of my picks. A FN 16 gauge A-5 dated in the ‘50’s and a Browning 12 gauge A-5 ‘63 model. Both did very well.
