Compressor and Hose Reel Tote

Stumbled across this on Facebook.

I bought a little compressor to drive the Pneumatic nail gun I bought to build the shed I just poured a slab for. I think this is a fabulous idea and I'm going to build one but it needs much much much bigger wheels to be trundled across my redneck rural yard out to the back of my pool every day.

A couple of scrap kid's bicycles should provide the needed wheels.

Sweet idea. If mine wasn't a 30 gallon type, I would build it.

besides the wheels another flaw in the design is waste. Look at the lovely curved transition between the upright and the horizontal members. Pretty but unnecessary and wasteful.

That means that they sawed out a lot of ply that may ( or not) be put to some other use but for sure the side opposite of the lovely curve will not likely be used.. I'd just make a square transition from separate pieces screwed and glued together and if I used ply I''d just slap them over each other in a plain Jane L shape. I like the spool for the hose . It needs a closed box for nails (to keep them intact and unbroken in strip form) and a place to hang my nail gun and maybe a place to loop a large extension cord. I think mine will have to be a tad taller to incorporate all that I'll want

But to be fair to the original:

If all he wants to do is to drag it around his unbelievably clean uncluttered shop and not up and down stairs and across yards - - well then - - the itty bitty wheels he chose are perfect.

My shop - - HA~!! I measure the sawdust and off cuts littering the floor by the inch.

That's a great idea. A starting point, anyway.

Every larger machine in my shop is on wheels. Cleaning is done when they won't roll across the floor. Larger wheels would mean longer intervals between cleanings!
