I can only speak from my experience with doing rolling pins and gluing the inserts into slots.

Using about 3 times as much glue as you think it might take. Every surface gets a HEAVY dose of glue- including the bottom of the slot. Brushed out and inspected for coverage.

    Good advice but my slots are only .125 wide, need a real narrow brush 🤣

    Maybe something shaped like a popsicle stick but thinner
