About a posting i just answered about tools seldom used and remembered these that were requested by my wife. First attempt segmented, turned and carved with angle grinder,. Oh and staged by SWMBOand flap wheel.

Second try also segmented ,turned etc. Think it looks better. Almost forgot their made from reclaimed wood from that remodel last year.

I forgot about the little Dremel tool I have that was used to add details to a couple of turnings.

I've ruined one Dremel doing piercing on small bowls, replaced it with a craftsman, didn't last as long as the Dremel. time to replace that one

One of the guys in our turning club has tool, with the motor separate and interchangeable head units. It is really nice! Can't remember the name but he said he bought it at a woodturning show. A jeweler friend of mine had one with the motor that hung on a stand with a cable that connected to the hand unit.

Nice job with the limited tools. The Micromotor would be better for tight carving. The carver Lew is thinking about may be a Foredom which has a hanging motor and cable to handpiece, It can be used for heavy material removal and uses mostly 1/4 bits. Note there are other brands, I have a Wecher from Woodcraft.

Note for piercing adental tool is best . NSK is expensive but you can get one on eBay made in right angle for just over 20. Note it is air driven, Look up Captn Eddie video Piercing 101.

I have looked at the tools you suggested but i decided not to pursue any of them as I decided that type of project is going to move way down the favorite list, but you have to try to know

Every time I try this it gets me in trouble, thinking. Anyway Lew mentioned cutting the blanks for his 6 line bowls like he cuts his rolling pins, well that's all it took, built this to fit my 12 in. miter saw,and it worked, so I go into the house and mention that I finally can cut these without profanity, So SWMBO calmly remarks that she thinks that they would be the perfect Christmas gift for each family, well in the interest of harmony I respond with of course I can do that .Not perfect but think they will work. Now to find the time to turn them. Hopefully before long this heat will break so I can get some things accomplished

Love that adjustable jig and you know I'm gonna have to try that. I found a big chunk of white oak the other day!!!

Kind of forgot about needing a depth stop on your saw, fortunately mine has one. Go Harbour freight. FWIW this saw isn't a Makita,but with the exception of the dust collection, it does everything I need, thanks to my wife for a wonderful birthday gift.

Mine has one but because of the smaller diameter blade and the Irwin laser guide I added, I cannot get quite 3" cuts.
