I have bought from Ocooch Hardwoods a few times. Good wood and shipping wasn’t bad.

I ended up cutting the rings in half to give me more layers and more twist. It is glued up and in the press.

Thanks. I had to make something to be able to do these glue ups. I had an old bench vice laying and the press was born. I took the wooden handle out, doesn’t need a handle.

Nice glue up. It does not have to be exotic. Cherry, walnut and maple make a very nice combo also.

Thanks for the suggestion but In Kansas high quality Cherry is an exotic. ours, what little there is is anything but red, but i understand what you are saying about work arounds but every now and then you want to splurge.

I only used exotics because I get deals a lot. I went to see a guy on Facebook marketplace today and bought around 8 pieces of exotic lumber for close to half price.

This one is just off the lathe, no sanding sealer or finish yet.

I love it! I have some spalted elm boards that I need to use for something. They would be great for something like that.

Looks like the chuck started to turn before the glue was dried, neat design.
