Friday again folks.

Here "Two Weeks From Anywhere" it will be day 9 of Black_Cloud with the possibility of severe storms later again today.

We've already set a new record for April rain totals with almost half of the month left to go.

So, as we wait to see what happens,

What's on Your Weekend Agenda?

Yard/garden stuff. It may be raining tomorrow so that would put me in the shop. But today should be nice so I'll get done what i can. Just a small tribute to quality made products: I have a Troy Bilt horse tiller, a 1996 model made by Garden Way. It has a 7HP Briggs engine. After sitting all winter in the barn I gassed it up and pulled once on the rope...fired right up. It's done that every year (I've had it for about 6 years). I wanted an electric start model since pulling ropes gets harder as I age, but this one is so reliable I don't need it. Of course Garden went under and MTD snapped up the brand, I think they still make the Horse model...but you can bet it had some cost engineering applied to the newer ones.

My dad (a lifelong gardener and full-time farmer for many years) got a Troy-Built in his retirement years and used it for his 2 acre garden. At the time I lived in Wisconsin and bought an Ariens, whose factory was nearby. A number of years later, due to deer, I had to fence in my garden and make it smaller. I ended up giving away to a guy who lives nearby, is a retired mechanic, and has a much larger garden, He got it back in shape and gave it to a son,

I got the bulkhead door frame cut and assembled this week. Will be installing it Sunday and hoping all goes well. Saturday is theater set build day and we only have a couple of people to help.

With the way the weather has been I need to cut the grass between seasons, which seem to happen on a daily basis. Working on painting the side entrance walls and then laydown the flooring. Enjoy your weekend.

My new grizzly scroll saw I bought was delivered Wednesday. It is too heavy, for this old man, to use as a table top so I will be building a moveable cabinet with drawers this weekend. It came with a metal stand but being limited for floor space where I need to put it I am going to loose a couple of drawers I store power tools hence the need to build a small stand with drawers.

Day late and a dollar short reporting in. Mainly just busy stuff this week with lots of windshield time. Got a decent start mowing yesterday after the random, out of nowhere thunder shower; still need to unload my car from auction items pick up Thursday afternoon. Church Sunday AM; youngest grandson has a soccer match in the afternoon. I need to catch up on my reading here; way behind.

Countertop glueup appears a success and got finish applied today. Always nice to see the colors of the wood "appear" as the finish is applied.

Yes!! Had to get my husband to help me flip it over to get the finish on the top after I completed the bottom.

Thinking about how I can deal with the "groove" where the two panels round overs meet. Too big and heavy for the tablesaw, likely too thick for track saw (could cut from top and bottom perhaps). Maybe add an inlay, or even cut in for t-track or other hold down method. Or just leave it as I doubt there is any functional issue. The joy of planning as I go!!

Just leave it. I suppose you could route it out and put in inlay which might look nice, especially if it's a darker wood; but with something that heavy it's probably best to just avoid trying to handle it.

Got the standard flowers planted around the yard. Hoping for some rain. Maybe one of yall with too much could send some my way. We haven’t seen a drop in over 2 weeks.

Was thinking this could be a way to sneak in some of my favorite walnut. 😉I'm not in a rush as I want to get the mitersaw dust hood done so time to think things through.

Did a glueup yesterday to beef up the edges of the plywood for the mitersaw dust hood to allow for screwing the panels together (was having issues with the 1/2 inch plywood and getting solid joints).

We haven't either. It either rains while we're sleeping or during the day, comes so down with such force it's a continuous stream...no drops😜

ChinScratch It might take "Two Weeks" for us to dry out.
