I know this can create an argument  among dovetail enthusiasts. But I always do dovetails first. It's easier, faster, and more accurate to do this way. 

Watch Rob Cosman on YouTube. He does dovetails first for reasons I mention. So does Paul Sellers.

Yeah I'm of the same opinion. I just much prefer the tails first. I don't even want to figure out how to do pins first. It just makes sense to me to match the pins to tails. But I'm not going to argue with any o n e about it. It's a wast of time and fair pre s u m p t uos

Our own @steven newman does tails first. I think it's all in the way we first learn to do them.

Actually..I do Pins first....just seems to work better for me...

Pins first...been that way for a decade, at least...ever since I gave up doing them with a router jig..

Awesome. I really appreciate that.

As for staying current, I know that there are going to be reasons why, if someone were trying to work alongside on the project, that they might not be able to do it in "real time".

For instance, there is a required set of tools in order to actually build the project, and it might take people longer to actually gather all of them up.

The purpose of this class is to encourage new woodworkers to start, but also to leave an complete record of the process so that through the years anyone who finds the series can just jump in any time they want and still be introduced to the principles and techniques to build a solid foundation in hand tools.

I don't see why that wouldn't apply to you as well.

I really appreciate you following along; it means a lot.

I am planning another series next year that will involve table making. Hopefully i can continue with different projects that will increase in skill for as long as I can possibly do so.
