picked up a cherry burl.

This will be my first time cutting and turning a burl. While doesn't look too large for my 10" midi lathe this thing is the size of a qt cooler and filled a tractor bucket to load it into my truck.

along with it came two smaller burls all from the same tree. these are the size of a medium beach ball.

Great piece. I have a very large Cherry burl in my shop plus two smaller ones. I did make a bowl for the friend who gave it to me but otherwise Just cut some of the plain wood off. It was all the two of us could do to get it off the trailer. Good luck on your piece. Remember no matter how much you just look at it cutting it is the only way to find out what you have.

I will most likely get the saw into these early next year as I still have a couple of orders to complete yet. it's definitely going to be fun
