August 29, 2025Aug 29 Friday again folks. Missed last week due to an internet outage from Thursday afternoon until Monday afternoon. Appears the power line project tried planting a pole through a fiber optic cable that was a month or so old. Other than that a whole lot of nothing going on. What's on Your Weekend Agenda?
August 29, 2025Aug 29 Popular Post Currently sitting at the hospital with the Mrs. waiting for her CT scan; her cardiologist wanted it performed before her next visit. We're doing lunch out later. Remainder of the holiday weekend TBD; oldest granddaughter is coming home tomorrow; have a few small projects I may consider thinking about doing somewhere in the near future. Monday, being a holiday, I have the day off ;=)
August 29, 2025Aug 29 Popular Post Just got back from the orthopedic practice that's fuzting with Marie's back pain, they have yet one more procedure they think may help (since the last 5-6 were a complete bust). I was planning to mow today and i think I'll pass. The grass looks like crap, but it's not high enough to mow (by my standards). I've always tried to mow just ahead of the major holidays but Mother Nature has been known to interfere with that plan. Maybe I'll be able to do some shooting today and putz around in the shop. I have some other yard work I might get to as well.
August 29, 2025Aug 29 Popular Post My son came for a visit. Fixed his truck late into last night. So he said he is heading back. Quiet long weekend.
August 29, 2025Aug 29 Popular Post Went to the cardiologist yesterday . He did an EKG and listened to everything. He said everything looked great. Guess that triple bypass surgery 23 years ago is still working. Guess it's going to have to be something else to take me out.
August 30, 2025Aug 30 Popular Post Working on painting shop. Finally got started after doing some sanding today. After trying 4 spray guns finally got one to work like it should. Worked on painting til after dark and got two walls done. It is a long way to get two coats on . Hoping tomorrow will work better.
August 30, 2025Aug 30 Popular Post I'm resting up after back pain flared up following a hard 8 weeks of summer maintenance. Lucky for me it's an old and familiar pain, I know what to do about it - aspirin, ice, and rest. I might still get a steering gearbox from a 1950's grader off in the mail to the rebuilder, and some light work done in the shop. I have a feeling that a bad back will prevent vacuuming and mopping the floors though! :D
August 31, 2025Aug 31 Popular Post Fence project completed. 3 new post 4 ft apart and 8 new pickets. 1 box of 1 1/2 inch screws to replace many that had broken over last 30 years. All in all not bad for $100 repair after 30 years .

September 1, 2025Sep 1 Popular Post I've always hated to do fence repairs. Always seemed like a waste of time. But here, it has always been a necessity. Switched from wood to vinyl and even that was consistently damaged by cars backing into it from neighbors. Neighbors have since moved away.
