Popular Post kmealy Posted August 27 Popular Post Report Posted August 27 I've been tasked with making the Pharoah's Throne for the upcoming performance of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. I've been running around the house measuring angles and dimensions to get a basic design together. I found this and thought it was good for anyone designing a chair. https://www.woodmagazine.com/must-have-measurements-for-comfortable-seating Gunny, lew, Fred W. Hargis Jr and 3 others 2 4 Quote
lew Posted August 27 Report Posted August 27 Thanks! I used that to make some deck chairs. I found the 5° angle to be a little too steep to be comfortable for the upright back. HARO50, Grandpadave52 and Gunny 3 Quote
Popular Post DAB Posted August 27 Popular Post Report Posted August 27 (edited) look up the coronation chair for the British king. thing is huge, and not to normal ergonomic standards. it's just imposing. so i'd think along those lines. wider, taller (with a foot stool/platform for occupant comfort), tall back (at least 18" above the head of the person sitting in it). it's not just a chair, it's a statement to all: this is the king!! linky: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coronation_Chair Edited August 27 by DAB HARO50, Handfoolery, Gunny and 4 others 5 2 Quote
