Popular Post Grandpadave52 Posted July 28 Popular Post Report Posted July 28 Basically did nothing over the weekend between the rains, heat and humidity. We're now into our third consecutive week of Rain Forest weather; daily thunderstorms, temperatures in the low 90's, and heat indices 100° to 108°. Grass desperately needs mowed; raining right now. I'll find something to do or not. It all really depends if I can get my moto-va-shun running again. DuckSoup, Fred W. Hargis Jr, steven newman and 2 others 1 4 Quote

Popular Post kmealy Posted July 28 Popular Post Report Posted July 28 Typical weather for the last month, sun is shining, 5 minutes later a downpour, 10 minutes later the sun is shining. Driving, it will be raining, then a few miles later, no rain but wet roads, then another couple of miles, dry roads and no rain. Getting tired of this. Repaired a couple of pieces at the furniture bank this morning. One was a set of drawers with those crazy undermount drawer glides. Two of six had fallen off the frame. They were held on originally with 1/2" screws, even though there was 2" of wood to screw them into. Then I discovered the drawers were 6 3/4, 7, and 7 1/4 in tall, so I had to make sure they went in the right spot. Second piece was a RTA desk where one of the connector bolts was missing. The dreaded prior repair (DPR) had a thick layer of glue and instead of a connector bolt and barrel nut, a 2" screw that was so far in it could not have helped anything. i had to use my hemostat to get it out. Worst problem was finding a bolt and barrel nut from our salvage inventory that was the right size and either both imperial or both metric. Grandpadave52, DuckSoup, Fred W. Ooh, and I validated Keith's Rule: If your tools are in your vehicle and you think you only need one tool, take the whole tool tote in, otherwise in 5 minutes, you'll be running back for a second tool, then in another 5 minutes, a third tool, so you take in the whole tool tote. I took in my tool tote and ended up using on one chair, one dresser, and one desk: Allen wrench 5/32" Phillips screw driver Driver bits for Phillips, square drive, and T25 Drill bits Hand saw Awl Hemostat Hammer Mallet Chisel Scissors Needle nose pliers Measuring tape Skewer sticks for filler in stripped out holes Diagonal cutting pliers Pencil Flashlight Edited July 28 by kmealy Gerald, steven newman, DuckSoup and 5 others 7 1 Quote
Popular Post Gerald Posted July 29 Popular Post Report Posted July 29 @kmealy SO true , one tool gets lonesome and wants some company. Got a bunch done Saturday. Put down some bricks in drip line of new shop. Moved lumber into shop to be ready to start on walls Monday. Got one level of nailer in the shop to attach walls. Today a friend helped so we got the second level of nailer strips in , plus getting a 10 food section of stud wall up. Nailed up the second but forgot to frame in window. Fred W.
