Popular Post frenchwwr Posted April 12 Popular Post Report Posted April 12 When we last visited this issue, I had the Roof on and the sides wrapped. This week I gave up on the free door. It was left outside too long, and the wood core was rotting, so on my way to the orange box store for fasteners, I decided to buy a storm door that gave me the option of have a sliding window for more ventilation. Then I built two seven-foot by 30 inch tables for SWMBO's plants Now I have to frame in windows on each end of the house, and build two more tables, 5' long x 4' wide. Once the growing season is over, I have to dig out the floor and put something suitable down. This is the madness she's creating. This is her She-shed This is the dining room and this is the entry area Grandpadave52, lew, HandyDan and 4 others 3 1 3 Quote

Popular Post frenchwwr Posted April 18 Author Popular Post Report Posted April 18 (edited) Eileen scored some windows today And I started to break down pallets to make tables for a friend's greenhouse, only 66 more boards to pull nails from Roughly 2000 nails need to be pulled from the 20 pallets I have, and then I can start on removing the blocks from the boards in the back. It's all free wood, and it was DELIVERED! Edited April 18 by frenchwwr Al B, HARO50, Fred W. Hargis Jr and 2 others 2 3 Quote

Popular Post HARO50 Posted April 19 Popular Post Report Posted April 19 When I was 17 or 18, dad bought several dump truck loads of used shipping crates from a glass company in town. I believe they were used to ship windshields. Guess who got to dis-assemble them all! Not only that, but dad was rather... shall we say "frugal", so all the nails had to be straightened on a short section of railway track (in lieu of an anvil) and sorted as to size. Most of those nails went into a scrap metal bin after dad passed away. The wood, however, was used for a small get-away cabin in the woods, as well as my first work bench and many other items. Nice greenhouse, BTW! Al B, lew, Fred W. Hargis Jr and 2 others 3 1 1 Quote
frenchwwr Posted April 19 Author Report Posted April 19 My dad must have been related to yours. When we wanted to build a "Camp" he handed me a bucket of nails, and we had to straighten them HARO50, Al B, Fred W. Hargis Jr and 1 other 2 2 Quote
