April 12, 20251 yr Popular Post When we last visited this issue, I had the Roof on and the sides wrapped. This week I gave up on the free door. It was left outside too long, and the wood core was rotting, so on my way to the orange box store for fasteners, I decided to buy a storm door that gave me the option of have a sliding window for more ventilation. Then I built two seven-foot by 30 inch tables for SWMBO's plants Now I have to frame in windows on each end of the house, and build two more tables, 5' long x 4' wide. Once the growing season is over, I have to dig out the floor and put something suitable down. This is the madness she's creating. April 19, 20251 yr Author The 12ds are pretty twisted, and I don't have a use for the inch and a quarters.
April 19, 20251 yr Popular Post When I was 17 or 18, dad bought several dump truck loads of used shipping crates from a glass company in town. I believe they were used to ship windshields. Guess who got to dis-assemble them all! Not only that, but dad was rather... shall we say "frugal", so all the nails had to be straightened on a short section of railway track (in lieu of an anvil) and sorted as to size. Most of those nails went into a scrap metal bin after dad passed away. The wood, however, was used for a small get-away cabin in the woods, as well as my first work bench and many other items. Nice greenhouse, BTW!
April 19, 20251 yr Author My dad must have been related to yours. When we wanted to build a "Camp" he handed me a bucket of nails, and we had to straighten them
