Guess it's officially winter, we got 3.1" of snow yesterday here "Two Weeks From Anywhere".

Won't have to shovel it though it will be 44° later today.

So, as I sit inside waiting for the thaw,

I need to get the tractor out of the barn and into the shop's garage along with the snow thrower. Otherwise I'm finishing up a Kissmass tree and helping Marie with her baking activities.

Today my alternating Friday off, yipeee! 3 day weekend!

Me and the missus heading to the lawyers office this morning to get our Trust for the kids notarized. We getting a bit older and we are starting to travel around more these days looking for a place to live, never know what'll happen, no guarantees tomorrow will ever come!  And we want to make sure our kids have a smooth transition getting what we want them to have when that time comes. :)

Later today I'm going out with my youngest daughter shooting, we have some family friends nearby on a farm who'll let us use a dirt berm backstop on their land. She recently purchased a small CC gun, I don't remember what she got when she was back in GA on duty, but she brought it out to our home after she was ETS'd out of the Army, and she needs some practice on it. I'll be taking my Colt Navy and Army black powder revolvers out today to have a little fun with them too while she's giving some paper targets hell. I'll set up our gongs and see if I can sound em off.

The rest of the weekend cleaning up around the outside of our home, getting ready for Thanksgiving weekend and setting out Christmas lights next weekend.

I hope you all have a completely wonderful weekend ahead, be safe in all do, to our fly over country members stay warm, any members in the Pac NW stay safe, you guys are getting nailed up there with some heavy weather. And peace!

I cut my grass for the last time on Wednesday, put away the outdoor furniture. Wednesday night we had a good gusting of winds and now my yard is covered in leaves from the maple tree that decided now was the time to start dropping them, thanks murphy. Hoping by Sunday they'll be dry enough to clean up. Doing shopping runs for whatever the baker tells me.

About three weeks ago we were out in NE Tennessee, Bristol, Johnson City area and ventured up into VA, Abingdon VA specifically and loved it, we hit the season just right I guess, the tree colors were on fire, absolutely beautiful!

Light snow here. Nothing sticking in the valley but the mountains east and west have a little on the ground. Need to do some cleaning in the shop. Maybe rough turn a small bowl first.

Dog had a doctor's appointment earlier this morning and then we stopped for breakfast. Little restaurant had scrapple on the menu and it was pretty good.

Ok Lew, what a coincidence, this is the second time in my entire life I have had heard of Scrapple, and both time are in the last three days. A buddy of mine at work started talking about Scrapple, because I was on the subject of Spam and how expensive it's gotten, and then we started talking about my trip to the eastern US recently and he asked me if I ever heard of Scrapple, his parents from the midwest used to fix it for him as a kid and he loved it, and he still looks for it in the market. And now I hear you talk about it, sounds like a power is calling me to try it out!

Neurologist appointment yesterday went seemingly well. He's prescribed I be equipped with a temporary "heart monitor" to record data over a designated period of time. Installation to be determined in the next couple of weeks. Non invasion; just another "appliance" to deal with and apparently keep charged. Go back to see him mid January.

Mrs. & I had a nice lunch afterwards at Red Lobster. As a reward for my exemplary behavior, I was allowed to purchase a 6 pack (of donuts, what else;)) which is now a 4 pack.

Just watched youngest granddaughter kick off the local college swim invitational in the 1st heat of the 500y freestyle. She was 4th in her heat. Not good enough for the championship finals but might get her into the consolation finals event. She's in town all weekend. Hoping to muster up enough endurance to try to get to one event; we'll see. She'll be home for a couple days next week for Thanksgiving. Tomorrow a football game over in Ohio somewhere that may garner my attention. Haircut may interfere somewhat. Sunday, church via lifestream.

Four seems like such an arbitrary round number, I feel compelled to reduce that "4 pack" to a more manageable amount of three in a few minutes. An unpleasant task, but sometimes ya' gotta' do, what ya' gotta' do. Don't worry about me, I'll be fine.

I'd suggest, for your first time trying it, to have them make prepare it a little "crispy". Around here, mostly they do it on the griddle with one side more done than the other. Also, a little pancake syrup is often applied. The Pennsylvania Dutch call it Pannhaas  and it made when butchering hogs. When people ask what is in it, we simply say "everything but the oink"

We did have over two inches of rain this week.

This was the first time in a long time that the weather provided a perfect fall season were, we could enjoy the changing colors of the leaves.

Rebuilding the Band saw with new tires then working on a base for my spouse's revamped curio cabinet.
